New Trapstar Apparel

 


Trapstar was born in Harlem, New York City. It is one of many notable artists that are signed to Cash Money Records, but does not have a major impact on the overall genre. Trapstar took its name from trap music, a sub-genre of urban rap which originated in the inner city of the United States. The group's name was created after DJ Travi Trigg, who was known for his legendary party night, "trap." The group consisted mainly of five people: Mikey Iman, Will Eppard, Antwon Garvey, D-R-E-S-H and Fabio.

Trapstar gained popularity through its single "One Wanted." The song became a single in the UK, but was a worldwide hit when it reached number one in the US. Eventually, the band broke up, with Eppard going solo, and Trapstar going into the studio to record another album, Trapstar II: The Legend. The second album was a great success, selling more than two million copies worldwide. The next Trapstar album, Trapstar: Return of Machines was a return to the trap style of hip hop, featuring guest spots from artists such as J.Lo and P Diddy.

Trapstar's reputation continued to grow with each new release, with the most recent release, Trapstar: Here to Stay, proving that Trapstar had moved into the mainstream, with the help of superstar artists such as Usher and Jay-Z. A collaboration with Usher, who would form the popular girl-group Woosome, Trapstar featured appearances by other popular members from London's underground scene, such as the crew from West lane, which features members such as Zizzer and Plundr. During this time, trapstyled clothes were becoming popular in the UK. This is because many artists from the Caribbean were attracted to the style, which included bright colours, unusual materials and unusual logos.

This style was also very much in vogue during the late eighties, and the "trap" was born. At the time, the brand was primarily a clothing brand for Caribbean girls, and therefore adopted a snappy slogan: "trapstar live, trapstar die". This slogan became incredibly well known in the UK, with the introduction of the "red line" - essentially a line of clothes that followed the same colour theme as Trapstar - helping to define the look of trapstar parties. In particular, the "red line" was a huge success with Caribbean girls who were looking to accessorise with bright red. Although Trapstar was never again a major success, it did influence many other designers, especially when it was brought back into the limelight during the fashion week at the 2021 London Fashion week.

In this context, Trapstar was seen as having achieved success with its take on the pop-up invasions of the eighties. However, the fashion brand managed to slightly overshadow its predecessor. Trapstar's biggest challenge in coming to grips with the pop-up invasion was to create an extremely unique take on the high street fashion, whilst still retaining its streetwear roots. One of the ways in which this could be achieved was through the use of a number of colour schemes; something that was notably absent from Trapstar. Instead, the brand adopted several different colour schemes, including one known as "Vibrant Red" which was created by applying red paint to a range of black and white garments. The Vibrant Red look was popular at the time, but faded after a few seasons.

A new collection called " Trapstar London" which will be launched later this year is expected to carry the same innovative ideas used in the "Red Line" campaign. The new collection is expected to feature garments from Trapstar's previous ranges, as well as new silhouettes inspired by current popular styles, such as the bright pink paisley icons. The key attraction for Trapstar, however, is its distinctive and colourful approach to designing. Trapstar London style will continue to attract a number of followers, especially as it bucked the trend caused by low-cut alternatives like briefs and sweat pants.
