Prof. Keith Dawson's lifelong passion for science and his love of learning led to his appointment as the Vice-Chairman of SEEDA in January 2009. A passionate researcher, he pioneered NVQs and managed training up to MBA level. His relentless dedication to learning inspired others to do the same at the Veolia Environment Development Centre and he founded CDR Ltd, a company which provides proprietary cognitive assessment services.
Professor Keith has extensive experience in planning, and he has managed over 45 planning applications to successful completion. He was a team leader in radiological incident response, engineering operations, and fire response, and was the first to design and implement the CDR System. His research also considered intermodal solutions and the built environment. His research has influenced and shaped the way we live and work today. As a result, he continues to contribute to the understanding of the cholinergic system and how it impacts our lives.
His research interests range from the human immune system to the history of civilizations. Before becoming a law professor, he specialized in civil litigation. Prior to moving to Aberdeen, he was a researcher with Don Brothwell at the Institute of Archaeology in London. His studies in zoology and palaeopathology led to his PhD in archaeology from the University of Bradford. After earning his PhD in 2007, Professor Keith worked as a freelancer in the United Kingdom and Middle East. After leaving the university, he worked as a Reader at Durham University.
Throughout his research career, Professor Keith Appleby has applied evolutionary and traditional approaches to the study of human and animal cognition. His research interests included the behavioural and environmental contexts of human evolution, and he worked on various projects in the Middle East, Australia, and Central Asia. He also co-founded two cognitive test companies, and his recent book 'The Evolution of Sport' will provide a clearer picture of the mechanisms of cognition in complex systems.
In addition to his academic background, Professor Keith holds a Ph.D. in microbiology. He has published more than 600 scientific papers and has served as a member of the International Society of Infectious Diseases. He has also served on many expert committees for the CDC, World Health Organization, and other organizations. In addition to his academic career, Professor McCormick has a varied background. He is a prolific writer and is passionate about promoting the work of other scientists.
Dr. Wesnes' scientific research has been widely applied to national teams in football, rugby, and other sports. His research has also been applied to the world of education, including to the AFL, NFL, and other sports. The results of his studies have been used by many national and international organisations.
